Everything You Need To Know About Acrylic Paint

We create a variety of acrylic polymers for paints, including 25-50E, which converts into low cost solution polymer for pigment grinding and high gloss flexo and gravure inks, C5-58, which is used as a binder for house paints and binder for pigment dispersion, M-49, which is used for metallic ink or paint vehicle and has exceptional stability and brilliance with metallic pigments, and S-50, an emulsion polymer with good adhesion to nonporous surfaces. All of these acrylic polymers for paints, as well as acrylic polymers for paints are painstakingly created and are generally positive for the environment. And they’re also positive for your art project or whatever else you plan to use acrylic paint for! However, not all acrylic paints were created the same. Here are a few examples of some of the different types of acrylic paints.
- Medium viscosity acrylics have a lower viscosity but usually the same pigmentation as their heavier bodied brethren. Medium viscosity acrylics are perfect for watercolor techniques, airbrush application, or when an even distribution is needed.
- Open acrylics were made to address the biggest difference between oil and acrylic paints, meaning that they do not dry quite as quickly as you may imagine given the reputation that acrylic paints often have for drying very very fast. Created with a hydrophilic acrylic resin, these paints can take a few hours to a few weeks to dry completely dry depending on factors such as temperature, humidity, paint thickness, and support characteristics.
- Heavy body acrylics are offered in Artist and Student Grade paints. They have the highest thickness or viscosity. They hold a knife or a brush stroke very well and with these special paints you can create a manner of artistic and creative projects. Acrylic polymers, especially water based acrylic polymers work supremely well for these types of paints.
- Exterior acrylics are able to withstand outdoor conditions. They are easily capable of adhering to many surfaces. These acrylic paints are resistant to a lot of weathering and they are even resistant to water if you can believe! These are great and are often used in more industrial settings.
